National Parks and Reserves
When NVCA was founded over 20 years ago Bowraville Nature Reserve and League Scrub Nature Reserve were the only protected areas in the Nambucca shire.
Along with the North East Forest Alliance, many other groups and individuals, NVCA has worked to protect our unique natural heritage.
The economic benefits to the shire from these reserves are already becoming apparent with National Parks and Wildlife regularly conducting well attended Discovery tours in the Nambucca area, and many visitors staying here specifically to see pristine natural beauty which no longer exists in most of the world.
Our work continues as timber industry and development pressures undermine the reserve system and destroy places which are not protected.
The NVCA aims to keep the Nambucca Valley a beautiful place and a place which is attractive to visitors, thus adding substantially to the local economy.
